Green Tour: Rainwater collection system (2/1/2010)

“Green Concept Home” has hosted another successful free green construction tour today!  During today’s tour, David Huang from Modus V Studio Architects has explained the green features of the “Green Concept Home”, with detailed explanations and discussions on the rainwater collection system, followed by a tour of the house. 

“Green Concept Home” will be collecting rain water from its metal roof.  The water will be filtered and stored in an 1,700 gallon below ground cistern tank to be used for toilet flushing, laundry, car washing and outdoor irrigation.  David has shared information on the technical aspects of the system, permit approval process with the City of Bellevue and the costs associated with the system.

Upcoming Green Construction Tour – February 1, 2010 (Monday)

We will be having another FREE green  tour next Monday February 1, 2010.  The focus of this construction tour will be on the rainwater harvesting system.  Other green features of the “Green Concept Home” will also be discussed.

Green Tour: SIP Installation/Framing (12/17/2009)

Thanks to Rylen Akana from Greeen Agent, we have had our 1st official green tour during SIP installation/framing today.   Attendees included students from a sustainability class at North Seattle Community College, green real estate agents and building contractors.  Weather has co-operated and the turnout was great!
